Ever since rave stars Wizkid (Ayodeji Balogun) and Davido (David Adeleke), found fame and stardom, they have been locked in a fierce competition which has morphed into a cold war with the pair throwing jibes at each other on social media.

Only recently, the crisis hit a climax when an obviously enraged Davido in an online interview, admonished Wizkid, never to rubbish him again after the former posted a snide remark that boys talk and men work in response to an earlier provocative tweet by Davido.

Meanwhile, in a bid to reign in the situation, the likes of Ruggedman and Iyanya, just to mention have waded into the crisis yet there seems to be no end in view.

But what is the beef all about? Some say it is a supremacy war while others say it is a product of inferiority complex, jealousy and envy. Whatever it is, one thing is certain, there is a lot of bad blood between the pair as they have recently engaged in name calling.

While Wizkid has referred to Davido as a dumb nigga boy Davido, on the other hand, has referred to Wizkid as a snitch, adding that Wizkid doesn’t have half the number of fans he has. Today, the pair face the court of public opinion on Showdown as Nigerians determine who is at fault.

Multi-talented singer, David Adedeji Adeleke aka Davido is also a songwriter, performer and singer, as well as music producer. He co-floated a music label called HKN Music with his elder brother, Ade. Atlanta Georgia, USA-born Davido hit the limelight in 2011 after releasing his hit song OBO, which tranformed him into a household name. He has as well done several collabos with popular local and international artistes. Davido’s song entitled Aye has won him several awards.

Nigerian pop star, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, aka, Wizkid became a household name after featuring in MI’s Fast Money in 1999. He is a songwriter, performer and singer and started his music career at 11 when he recorded his debut single with OJB Jezreal. He later went on to release a 7-track album under the name LII’Prinz. But in 2006, he rebranded and changed his stage name to Wizkid, and went on to win the most promising artiste of the year award by the Dynamix All Youth Awards at age 20. He has done several collabos with many A-list artistes and has also bagged numerous awards.
